There is no documentation about social icons menu yet, so if you want to put it in your footer follow these steps:
1- In apparence ->menu->Short(social menu) create as meny custom links as you want targeting your social accounts(facebook, twitter,google+…)
2-Save this menu as social menu (check the box “Social menu”)
3-Now in the footer of every page you can see your social menu icons links.
If you want the menu centered in the page and the icons a little bit larger add this to your custom style.css:

/* Custom social icons */

#social {
background: transparent none repeat scroll 0 0;
float: none !important;
}
.social-list a {
color: #fff;
font-size: 35px;
opacity: 0.5;
}

Thanks webcolor, was curious how this is set up.

I managed to get the icons showing for Facebook and Twitter but it seems there’s no logo for Instagram or maybe I set it up wrong?

I made the label “Instagram” and the url us http://www.instagram.com/username

Any help with this?
