# Social Menu? Where is it? Does not appear on page when i set it up.

Hello,

I like everything about this theme except the limited menu options.

I tried using the social menu to set up custom links and it does not appear to work. I create the menu and it does not appear anywhere.

And there really needs to be a footer menu…

Hi @pdishman,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

I visited your shares site and it seems you have not added correct URLs in the social icons menu therefore it is not displaying on your site.

To create social icons follow the below steps :

1. Create a menu like any other menu in the admin area of your site under Appearance -\> Menus .
2. Use the correct urls in the menu items, so for twitter it must be [twitter.com](http://twitter.com) for facebook it must be [facebook.com](http://facebook.com). Otherwise URLs won’t get recognized and you will get squares without icons.
3. Set theme location for this menu as “Social Menu”
