static homepage without sidebar and blog page with sidebar

Dear Colorlib-support-team,
I am trying to combine static pages without sidebar and a blogpage with the sidebar on the right.

I already did the settings like your description at Settings/Read/… I guess.

  1. Going to my URL www.stelle-fussball.de the homepage will appear, without sidebar. Wonderfull.

  2. Going to /Blog (headermenu on the right), a first testpost will appear without the sidebar. Not good.

  3. If you are clicking on the headline of the testpost the blogpage with sidebar will appear. Pretty good.

I would like to have the blogpage with posts and sidebar directly by clicking on http://stelle-fussball.de/blog/.
Without step 2.

I am sure, there must be an easy solution or I forget to choose a simple option.
Hope you understand my »problem« and looking forward to your advice.

Regards from Germany
Pablo

Hi Pablo,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of the latest version of Sparkling theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Sparkling Options -> Other -> Custom CSS

body.blog div#secondary {
    display: block;
}
@media (min-width: 992px){
body.blog .main-content-inner.col-sm-12.col-md-8 {
    width: 66.66666667%;
}
}

Best Regards,
Movin

Hi Movin,
thanks for the fast and first help. It is mostly what I want.
May be you can help me for a little fine-tuning.

As I want, the blogpost opens with the sidebar on the right, like you can see here: http://stelle-fussball.de/blog/.
But the blogpost seems to be a preview without the author of the post and the wrong colours of the title or headline. It uses the default colour settings, I guess.
If you click on the title link, another blogpost layout opens and the colour of typography changes. May be there is a logic I don’t understand.

The colour of headlines: #ffcc00 (yellow)
Hovercolour: #006699

By the way, I did the settings of typography colours in the customizer of sparkling theme. But has not allways effect of all parts of the website. Like »preview« of posts or sidebar.

And a last question:
It seems, that I have to choose the layout option »sidebar on the right« for each specific new blog post. Is this correct or is there a way to set it as default. (Because other authors should have easy live. :wink:

Okay. As always, fine-tuning is more complicated and I hope you understand my broken english…

Thanks again!
And best Regards

Yes this is because it is http://stelle-fussball.de/blog/ your blog page listing all your posts and this is http://stelle-fussball.de/fc-st-pauli-rabauken-fussballcamp-2017/ a single post in your blog. The two pages are different so have different styling.

You can set it globally as right sidebar in your theme layout settings as shown in the attached screenshot.
