[Support Request] Sliders Images quality loss

Hello, First of all, thanks for the theme !

When I choose images to put as sliders, they appear to have some sort of quality loss. I tried different sizes and type of files (png.jpeg) but nothings seems to work.

The only time I have a full quality image is when the size is below 1600x**** (1598x800, 1400x550,…). But because of the 1600 it doesn’t fill the area allowed for slider and leave the rest with white.

I also try to use different browsers but that didn’t change a thing

You can find here 3 screenshots explaining the difference. (I took the image that you are using on the demo and as their size are 1920x600 i guess it should work too)

Hi @aarch,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Sparkling theme.

Could you please share the page URL from your site where it’s not displaying correctly so that i can troubleshoot it?

Hello

I seem to be having same problem after i updatede the theme today.
My images are loosing quality when displayed in the frontpage slider.

This is the page with the slider, and lowres images:

I have tried to reuploade the pictures, but they still show as lowres.
Image resolution is 1920x550px as recommended.

I’ve attached the original image below.

I visited your shared pages and it seems you are using smaller slider images than required as following.

Instead they should be in size as displayed on the following demo page.

i just downloaded your fullsize image from:

and uploaded it to my frontpage slider, this is the result:

A very Lowres image is displayed, this was not a problem until today.

It must be the theme that downscales the images, cause i’m 100% sure i didn’t.

Same here,

I directly downloaded it from your sparkling demo and indeed it apear that while i upload them the automatically shrink.

I have also had the same problem after the latest updates. My 1920 pixel slider images were fine a week ago, now they are being scaled up from the same size as the feature image thumbnail size instead of showing the full resolution image (which still exists in uploaded media).

Hello everyone

I have downgraded my wordpress version to 4.3.1 and now the sliders are great, no more quality loss.

If the downgrade solution suits you, you can find here a tutorial to do it through your ftp client.

Hope it can help someone while waiting for a fix.

It seems the issue caused by WordPress update.

Instead of downgrading WordPress could you please try using the small plugin attached to this reply to resolve it?

Hello everyone,

unfortunately, Molvins solution doesn’t work for me. The slider still shows the 1024px pictures instead of my high-res pictures. Any other ideas to solve this?

Thank you very much for your amazing theme.
I am having the same problem with this theme. In my case, as you can see on my test website http://samuelpfleumer.com, the slider is loading the wrong image size I think. Before I updated my wordpress to 4.4 everything worked just fine.

I tried your suggestion and activated your new plugin. But it still does not solve the problem.
Is it because I am using a Child theme?

Please vorgive me, I am new to Wordpress.

Hi Eric, Samuel Pfleumer,

This can be child theme issue on your site so to confirm it just temporary use the Sparkling theme instead of child theme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your child theme issue so just share me your child theme so that i can troubleshoot it.

Also this can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.

To help keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/sparkling/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.

If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.
