Text colour

Hello,

Could anyone please explain how to change the text and headings colours in Activello for all pages. I have a background picture which makes the default colours unreadable, so need to change all text/headings/links etc. colours. Thanks very much. Jenia

Hi Jenia,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

You can change it from the Layout theme options on the following path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Activello Options -> Layout options

If any color doesn’t change for you then you can change it by developing CSS code using CSS colors property http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_colors.asp and add that custom developed CSS code on the following path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Activello Options -> Other -> Custom CSS

Best Regards,
Movin

Hi Movin,

Thanks very much for your unswer.

Please forgive my ignorance, I am very-very new to WordPress and CSS development. I have tried cystomising the layout options, but that did not change the text or headings colours. So, it sounds like I need to go the customised route.

Is this a substitute for creating a child theme? And do I use standard syntax to do it? In other words, would I just put in Custom CSS what I would have put in my child theme style.css?

And the last question for now: which tag defines the text? I assume that h1, h2, etc. are various headings, but it is not obvious to me what defines the body of text on the pages. Thanks so much for your help. Best regards, Jenia

You can either add the CSS code in the child theme style.css file or in the Custom CSS option of the theme or you can add code in both places however you want as the theme uses CSS from both of these places.

And the last question for now: which tag defines the text? I assume that h1, h2, etc. are various headings, but it is not obvious to me what defines the body of text on the pages.

Use the below CSS code on your site to achieve this.

.entry-content a {
    color: #23527c;
}
.entry-content {
    color: #000;
}
.entry-title, .entry-title a {
    color: #000;
}

Please change the color value in the above code to whatever you want to use by referring the following pages.

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colorvalues.asp
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp

Thanks very much, Movin. Best regards, Jenia

You are most welcome here :slight_smile:

Hi! I could change te colour wit this code as well. thx! What about the text colour in the sidebar? What is the CSS code for that?

@fleurwb,

Yes, there is,

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS

/**/
/*paragraph color*/
div#secondary p{
  color:blue;
}
/* link color */
div#secondary a{
  color:red;
}
/* widget title color */
div#secondary h3.widget-title{
  color: purple;
}

Best regards,
Support.
