The Theme is great. - I am a newbie here so hoping someone can help me -
I need to achieve 2 things.
1: I can’t seem to find a way to update/remove the links in the grey area
2: Also how do I add update items in the navigation from where is this controlled?
3: When I add a post I can’t find any idea on what is the correct size for the featured image to be created to

Hope you are having a good day and thank you for your question 
- this is footer and in order to modify it just place any widget in the footer, this can be done from appearance > widgets
- menus can be updated from appearance > customize > menu
- there is no any restriction or predefined size of the featured image, you can use any image size but if you want to have the same style on all your blog items use the same size for all your featured images
