Translation file suggests proper translation, but not showing on website...

Good day!

I have a little problem regarding the language file included in the Sparkling theme. Every part of my website is properly translated (to Dutch), except for search-related terms, which all stay written in English. E.g., the word “search” in the search bar, the “older posts” and “newer posts” terms etc. As far as I can tell these terms are being addressed by the Dutch language file, seeing I could find a sentence translating “newer posts” to “nieuwere berichten” (which is the correct Dutch term). Might there be a problem with the file, or is there something else causing this? The website I’m talking about is http://www.tcg-groep.nl/

Kind regards,
ThomDJ

Hi ThomDJ,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

You can try translating those strings by using the attached small plugin specially developed for you that contains some custom code.

Best Regards,
Movin

Good day!

Thanks for the custom plugin! I installed it, and the “older posts” and “newer posts” are now translated correctly. For some reason, though, the word “search” won’t translate still, along with a small sentence in the breadcrumb. I added an image as an attachment for reference. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help so far!
ThomDJ

You can translate the search word using the attached modified plugin and remove the above existing plugin that you are using on your site.

The theme doesn’t provide breadcrumb so this may be displayed on your site using plugin or custom code therefore you have to translate it yourself by contacting the plugin developer.

Thanks a lot!

I thought the text displayed by the breadcrumb code was somehow linked to the theme’s language file, but seeing that’s not the case I’ll communicate with them for a solution.

One last translation issue though, could you possibly add a final translation, translating “Search results for” into “Zoekresultaten voor”? I failed to notice before that this one isn’t translating properly as well. My gratitude will be eternal!

Have a happy New Year!

You are most welcome here

Could you please share me the page URL from your site where it is displaying so that i can help you to achieve it?

Wishing you a happy new year!

Yes, of course. It’s the page header just below the weird looking breadcrumbs displayed on this page: http://tcg-groep.nl/?s=TCG&submit=Zoeken

Have a happy New Year!

To translate the word try using the attached modified plugin and remove the above existing plugin that you are using on your site.

Hello!
I have a question similar to the above problem.
My “older posts” labels are also not translated (to Danish) but I would like to remove the label and just show the arrow.
I managed to do so on the blogroll (http://www.bageglad.dk) but not on my category pages (http://www.bageglad.dk/opskrifter/mad).
How can I remove the label and just have arrows?

Also, is there a way to style the “active” page number with a different background color?

@tjuel To help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/sparkling/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.

If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.

We would be more than happy to help you on your new thread.

I’m a bit of a chaotic person, so sometimes I forget to place a message thanking you for the solution. It did work though, thanks a lot!

You are always welcome here
