I like having a featured image on a page or post, in that it shows in a post or page PREVIEW.
However, when a user clicks on that preview, I’d like the option to NOT show the featured image atop the content area.
How can I achieve this?

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
Do you want not to display the featured image at the top of the single post page but only display it when the post is in draft mode / not published and when we preview the post in front end or do you want it to display on posts listings page like blog or archive pages?
