Hello!
I’m currently building a small website, but it has to be both in English and French. The trouble is: I built the front page in the English Language, but the English-only illustrations and texts are also copied in the French Language, and they shouldn’t!
Is there a way to segregate texts and images to be displayed in one language or the other, without the one copied into the other?
Hey there
Thank you for the question
Are you using any multilanguage plugin? the behavior you explained is normal if you are not using any plugin, having a multilanguage website without plugins is not easy to achieve, can you tell me more and provide link to your website?
Hello!
I don’t use any multi-language plugin, but I did try some and it looks like a mess for all of them. For me, I’d rather copy the “Home Page” template directly, and run them separately. Because if I want to just “Edit the page” through the dashboard, it’s only a section of the template who’s editable, but I have to work in the entire template to do it…
… The website address is http://www.zhenyanation.com, but it’s still under construction. Please let me know when you’re ready to take a look, so I can unlock it temporairly.
Good evening
Without the multilanguage plugin, you cant build a multilanguage website, you can start with polylang plugin which is easy to use, please check documentation on how to set up and use it
Ok… Looks like I’ll get the hang of it… Though, Is there a way to switch languages in a single page?
Also, I lost the capacity of customizing a set of pages (likely due to being in a different language). How to claim it back?
Good morning
All you need is to use one of the multilanguage plugins
Regarding “I lost the capacity of customizing a set of pages” - tell me more about this problem, how can i replicate it?
Finally, I found why: (Linking 2 pages each other by their intended language). It’s now a case solved.
that’s great you fixed the problem I will close this case now, Feel free to contact us again if you have other questions Thanks!
