Use Shapely widgets for other additional pages – duplicate homepage layout

Hi colorlib communkty,

I have a question please. It’s not possible to use your awesome Shapely widgets for other pages on a Website at the beginning.
I’m sure thousands of other people also need the opportunity to use the homepage layout with all the widgets on other pages than the landing page.
This is a workaround, but sadly I can’t make it because of less knowledge and less informations.
To achieve this you have to create child theme of Shapely theme and create a new theme file by copying template-home.php and changing its template name & file name then register custom widget area using the function register_sidebar and then call it in the newly created theme file by replacing “sidebar-home”.

Unfortunately I’m not a professional so it would be SO awesome, if you could give us a short tutorial in Pictures/video, how to handle that. :slight_smile:

I’m unable to provide an ETA on when this would be achieved.

Yes that would be awesome if that would be possible. Because it’s so worth it to have this widgets for many other pages. For now I would need the Homepage layout 20 times for 20 different pages on one Website.

Do you think you could give me a closer and more detailed description for the workaround? Would be really helpful for me, because I#m not a professional.

please if someone might spend some couple of minutes to give me a more detailed manual, how to duplicate the Homepage layout for several times. I would like to go online with my webite now.

Hello @webgen,

This kind of thing would require the aid of a developer to make extensive changes to the theme so that the widgets used in different pages do not conflict with each other.

However you can use one of the following plugins to add more options to customize each page individually:

These are not the same as the Shapely widgets but they are pretty good.

my Problem is, that I need exactly the same Homepage layout 20 times. Because I have 20 different landing pages who needs the same optic.
That would sadly mean, that I have to use a different theme, where I can duplicate the homepage layout that often.

But I love your theme so much and don’t want to switch the theme :frowning:

So to confirm, you want to have the homepage widgets on multiple pages, on the same server/website or are you using different websites?

If the pages are on different websites/servers then there would be more options.
