I’d like to know how I can use pages instead of posts for the slider on my homepage. I found a previous post on this forum referring to using a child theme supplied for sparkling theme but I haven’t managed to get this working.
I’ve attached the child theme I’ve modified for Activello. When I apply this child theme the formatting and some content seems to disappear from the home page and I haven’t managed to get the page images to appear in the slider. I have added a custom field, on the page I’d like to link, called slider_page and put ‘yes’ in the value box and set a feature image on this page.
Are you able to see from the files where I’m going wrong.

I’ve tried using the child theme but I haven’t had much success. When I activate the theme my site layout changes to the sparkling theme (I’ve assumed this needs to be installed as well as the activello theme as there was an error when it wasn’t there?). It didn’t do this when I was working locally but since I’ve put a test site up it started happening.
I have created 3 pages with feature images to display on the homepage but they’re not displaying. I’ve added a custom field which has slider-page and value ‘yes’. I’m a bit lost as to how to get this working. My test link is http://littlebirdweddings.co.uk/test/
I’ve also noticed the accent colour seems to revert back to the default colour when you click into the second level pages.

I am unable to get the child-theme (colorlib-child-theme-38.zip) to pull pages for the slider. Under Customizing ▸ Activello Options > Slider Option > I am still asked to choose a category.
I have added a Categories for Pages plugin but still no slider when I select the category on the slider option page.

Unlike posts the pages don’t have category so you have to add ‘slider_page’ custom fields to the pages that you want to display in the slider as shown in the attached screenshot.
