A few questions

Hi,
I’ve got a few questions:

  1. In the about section, I don’t want to have the sliders at the bottom. When I remove all three widgets, they all appear even though there are no widgets in the customise section.
    Is there a way to have these completely removed?

  2. In the latest news section, I want to change the colour of the button but when i change it in the customise section, it doesn’t change it in the preview or actual website. How do i change the background color, and also the link it goes to?

  3. Is it possible to have another section on the front page that is similar to the About section, but is just text and a button below it?

1 and 2. Please clear your browser cache then reload the page as this can be the case where the browser is using an older version of the page thus not showing the color and widget changes.

  1. Adding the button would require new code to be added to the widget, you can have a developer make those changes, one of which you can find here:

Also, In the latest news section, how do i change the URL behind the button in that?
I also want to add a blank text section to the front page. How do i do this?

What do you mean by “blank text section”, do you mean a text field?

The link should go to the blog page, but you can change it in the theme files via sections/front-page-latest-news.php.

Hi,

I’ve found a way of doing it using the testimonials section. I’m trying to change the background colour of the Testimonials section title so that the text has a black background.

Also, since i’m not using the sliders in the “about” section, there’s now a massive gap between the section description and the end of that section which i can’t seem to get rid of. Any clues?

Last thing, when i’m using a child theme, only one of the buttons appears in the jumbotron. Do you know why this is happening?

Hi,

No worries, I’ve fixed most of the problems using a child theme. The only thing left is a problem with the header section. For some reason, in customiser i can see two buttons, but in the live version (child theme), only one shows. However, when i change to the parent theme, both buttons appear.

Hey there

hm… interesting, can you try to use that button in parent theme? setup it and then switch to the child theme
not sure why this is happening but i think setting made in the parent theme will be applied in the child theme too
