I have used the Sparkling theme that you have brilliantly designed at Colorlib. I have also noticed that Colorlib has provided some great customer support for all of using it.
So far I have been able to resolve my issues with this theme by perusing the various solutions on your forums. However I am still left with this problem of not being able to see the Read More links on posts that I had setup to show up as excerpts on the home page for example.
Could someone please help me out with this issue? I’ve tried whatever I could to get the Read More buttons, but still not sure what I’m doing incorrectly.
After using FTP to transfer the file to my site’s directory where the old content file resides (sparkling-child for me), and refreshed the browser URL to my site, the buttons showed up for the excerpts for my blog post on my home page.
I hope this helps anyone having similar issues to what I experienced.
I think I had this problem previously, but it might have been a different issue. So you can try my fix:
Go to customizing appearance
Choose sparkling options
Go to content options
uncheck show excerpts - then save &publish
check show excerpts - then save & publish
Most likely you had this option already checked (on) to show excerpts, something funky happened with one of my sites and by toggling it off, saving/publishing, and then toggling it back on and publishing it the issue was fixed. Yes this puts it back in the state that it was/should have been in, but something gets changed behind the scenes and by updating it, my issue was resolved.
I kind of have the same problem except that I don’t want to check the show excerpt option as I think the excerpt is too short. I usually add “<–more!–>” in my post where I want the text to be cut for the front page.
However, as I don’t check the “excerpt option” for this reason, there’s no “Read More” button under my excerpt. I know people can click on the title to access to the entire post but I hope to find another solution in order to add this button or at least a text-link as for others layouts.
