Is it possible to show the widgets on a category level instead of product level? I only want to show categories on my home page, preferably all of my categories.

There isn’t an option for this.
However, I’ve found a tutorial that may be of some help to you.
Before making any sort of changes be sure to make a full back up of your website in case anything goes wrong.
