Colour for hover text on menu and Footer section with links

Hello
I have a few questions:

  1. How do I change the colour of the hover text from the default yellow to red?
    I made the changes in the Customise section but this is not being reflected.

  2. I am not ready with the info for the footer section. The site is live.
    Can I delete the footer widgets and re-insert them later?

  3. I swapped over from Shapely theme to Illdy. Should I remove the Shapely Companion plugin instead of just de-activating it?

Please ignore point #2 above. I found out how to remove the whole footer section.

For point #1, I’m re-attaching image.
For point #3, would appreciate if you could still advise.

You can deactivate the plugin without deleting it but it is fine for you to delete it.

use this code in appearance > customize > additional css:

#header .top-header .header-navigation ul li:hover a {
color: red;
}
