Your website won’t work on desktop as well once you turn off your localhost (local server). The thing is that you bring your website online but haven’t changed URLs from localhost to your domain.
You should change website URL via WordPress Dashboard >> Settings >> General. If you have linked to some page and images manually you will have to replace those URLS as well and for that you can use plugin such as Search & Replace.
