Hello. I have Shapely and Shapely Companion installed and I am trying to add a parallax section through the Elementor interface. I drop the widget in - it’s listed under WP widgets - and then when I try to select an image, the ‘choose image’ button does nothing. Any ideas on what is going on? I’ve tried disabling, re-activating, re-installing, etc for the plugin(s) and have had no success getting the choose image to work properly on multiple page types. WP is updated to 5.2. I only have 4 plugins installed and active right now and they are:

Well, this is not natural ways to add shapely parallax widget, you need to use customizer for this and not page builder, there are chances that this method will fail and in fact it’s failing as we can see in your case,
I’m not following - customize option takes me to make changes to the overall theme. When I open a page to edit, it just has ‘edit with elementor’ which is how I get to the issue with the parallax widget. If I choose the ‘back to wp editor’ option from the edit page, elementor gives me a warning that my content may break.
Can you please explain the natural way to do this?
Regardless, there is a bug with that image picker, specifically for the parallax widget. Other image widgets work fine in elementor in terms of being able to select an image from the media lib.

As I said before adding shapely widgets from page builder will not work normally, you have to use the only customer to add theme widget
Thanks Noda. I see what you are describing better now, video helped. However, I’ve created a testing page intended to be an interior page on the site - not the homepage. When I go to customize that page (not through elementor) and go to widgets, there is no homepage option in the accordion options because the page itself is set to use the ‘elementor full width’ or ‘full width’ page templates. There is a message saying that the theme has 2 other widget areas, but this page doesn’t display them. How can I add those widget areas so that they would be available on any page I create with any template selected?
That’s true because homepage widgets are available only for the homepage, you cant use them on inner pages
So, saying shortly you have to use customizer and widgets on homepage and element or page builder for inner pages, not possible to use element and shapely widgets together,
Thanks for your help. I’m local testing a site with Shapely / Elementor and one with Vantage / Siteorigin and leaning towards the latter at this point. Both are very good combos for site building. Divi is pretty amazing, although I’m trying to work within a ‘free’ budget right now.
