Features section widget formatting problems

Hello, I really love the Shapely theme! Unfortunately I am having a major issue trying to implement the “Features Section” widget on my homepage.

Every time I try to add/change something in the “content” area for one of the three sections (using the ‘Text’ editor), the widget adds a bunch of
tags (and sometimes other tags) to the OTHER TWO content sections. This makes it impossible to have all three sections formatted properly at the same time.

The ‘Visual’ editor sometimes doesn’t work either, appearing blank or causing similar formatting issues. See the attached image for an example of the issue (or visit my live site at ). Please let me know if you are aware of anything that could be causing this behaviour.

Thanks!
Kind regards,
Emma

hi Emma

those text blocks are not suited for html tags, it can accept only raw text, please try only the text and check again

Cheers for the response.

The ‘Visual’ editor in the widget has options to bold the text, add links etc (see attached image). These buttons simply add HTML tags into the ‘Text’ editor. So at a glance it seems like I should be able to format the content with these options. Is it possible you can make this functional in an update? Ideally I would like to have links in the content section to direct customers to our most popular services from the homepage. Is there any workaround to achieve this? Thanks very much for your time

Hi Emma

thank you
let’s try without waiting for an update, perhaps I can help you with a custom css? what are you preferred style of the text? maybe you can mockup? or how you want it to look?

That would be extremely useful, thanks for helping me out with this. Below I’ve written out some code which reflects how I would like the text to appear:

Emma

You have many many br tags in your text, check this out: Screenshot by Lightshot you need to remove them first of all

Okay, but that is exactly the issue here. I will remove the excess tags from ONE section, but every time I make an edit, it automatically starts adding supurfluous tags to the OTHER TWO sections. This makes it impossible to have all three sections properly formatted at the same time.

I have even tried to intall plugins which stop the WordPress editor from automatically creating tags, but still they keep getting added in.

Hi Emma

May I try it? please send me your admin details privately and I ill check it,

Click on my name and you will see a message option

Hello! I would like to let you know that I have found a solution to the problem! I don’t know why I didn’t think to try it earlier, but I edited the content sections by going to dashboard>appearance>widgets, rather than trying to edit them with the live customizer. This stopped the tags from being added before I could save the changes. Thanks for your time!!

One more question, is there a way I can edit or remove this thread. I didn’t want to leave the link to my website up while it is still under construction.

Kind regards,
Emma
