Front Page Sidebar

Is it possible to have a sidebar on my Front Page? My Front Page is a page, not a post. When I edit the Front Page, various templates are offered, such as L & R sidebar, but they don’t appear when published. It defaults to a narrow “no sidebar”.

Hi @canoehull,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Sparkling theme.

I have just set the layout for the page to “Right Sidebar” in the page Edit screen as shown in the attached screenshot.

Please try doing the same and if it doesn’t work for you then share me your site URL to troubleshoot it.

Best Regards,
Movin

Thanks Movin, I had the layout set for right sidebar. This is a page, not a post. Does that make a difference? the url is: http://swanlake.flywheelsites.com/. This site is just being developed and the customer wants side mounted content.
Thanks, Doug

Hi Doug,

Thank you for sharing your site URL.

I tried to visit your shared site to troubleshoot the issue but it’s displaying authentication pop up as shown in the attached screenshot and therefore i couldn’t access your site.

Could you please either temporary disable it or share me the password privately by checking the option “Set as private reply” when replying here so that i can troubleshoot it?

Regards,
Movin

Try “flywheel” and “quirky-cactus”.

Thanks, Doug

Movin, I think I figured it out. Under Customizing ▸ Sparkling Options > Website Layout Options, I had Full Width selected. When I changed this to Right Sidebar, the sidebar appeared on the Front Page. I was previously trying to change it on the Page Edit options.

Thanks, Doug

Awesome great to see you got that figured out.

Please advise if you have more questions.

Have a fantastic day!
