Hide Colorlib/Wordpress info in footer

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to edit or hide “Theme by Colorlib Powered by WordPress”.

I found a post about hiding the entire footer, however, I would like to keep my copyright info in the footer.

Is it possible to have one without the other? Or perhaps hide the footer and place the copyright info elsewhere?

Thank you,
Vanty

Hi Vanty,

Thank you for your question.

I am not sure what you meant by "keeping my copyright info in the footer: so could you please describe it a bit more in detail so that i can help you?

Kind Regards,
Movin

Hi Movin,

I’ve attached a screen shot below.

In the theme’s customization page, there is an option to input text into the footer, which I’ve included my copyright info.

However, as you can see, after my copyright info, is the Theme by Colorlib/Wordpress info.

Ideally, I would like to be able to have that part that reads “Theme by Colorlib Powered by Wordpress” hidden but show “All rights reserved © 2009 Vanty Paradis”.

In a previous post, you’ve provided a code to hide the footer, but in doing so, the entire footer disappears along with anything I’ve written into it, in this case, my copyright information.

I would be happy with any option you may have to achieve this.

Thank you,
Vanty

Hi Vanty,

You can try achieving this by using the attached custom child theme of Activello theme that contains some custom code.

Movin

Hi Movin,

Thank you for the code, it does not seem to be working. The “theme by colorlib powered by wordpress” is still there even after I customize footer.

I’ve attached screenshot.

Kind regards,
Vanty

Hi Movin,

I’m sorry to make this sound confusing and I know we should keep topics separate…

I’ve created two topics which you’ve answered both with child theme custom code for each. So this is the problem I’m encountering.

In this coding, ( to hide the theme info in footer) it actually does work perfectly when I activate theme. However, in the other post you’ve answered, I wanted the social menu to appear in the search bar. In which you’ve provided me with a custom child theme as well, and that works perfectly.

So one cancels out the other depending on which child theme is activated.

Could you please provide one child theme custom code for both issues?

Please see attachments. Thank you so much.

Have a lovely day,
Vanty

Just download the child theme zip file shared in this topic and extract footer.php file from it and add that file in the child theme directory that i have shared in your another topic to make social menu to appear in the search bar.

Hi Movin,

Thanks so much, it works perfectly!!

Vanty

You are most welcome here
