Home page not an option when customizing widgets

Hi,

I’ve been following along with a youtube video on adding a portfolio widget to my home page, but the widget section doesn’t have a homepage option, just “footer widget 1” “footer widget 2” and so on. Could someone please help? I tried just using the [portfolio] shortcode on the page, but it displays the featured image as well as text and I’d like it to just display the image like in the demo.

Hi, I still need some help with this. Can anyone help? The homepage widget section is gone and I need it to place a portfolio widget there.

Hi,

Sorry for a late response, for portfolio don’t add shortcode…

Instead go to Appearance -> Customize -> Widgets -> Homepage and add this widget “[Shapely] Porfolio for Home Widget Section” so that it will display portfolio like the demo in to your homepage.

Hi, as forementioned, I no longer have a “homepage” option in my widgets menu. That’s why I’m having trouble. How can I get it back?

Hi,

You have “Shapely Companion” plugin installed and activated? If not, make sure you install the plugin Shapely Companion – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org and activate it.

I just fixed it! Went into the page itself and made sure it was under the homepage template. Thanks for your patience.
