Is it possible to move the menu buttons to the right of the logo in the header? Basically in place of where the social media icons would go?
Do I need to do this in the header extensions php? Any help would be really appreciated!

Yes, these changes can be done via header-extensions.php. This file is located in theme folder → library → structure.
It will take much more than copy/paste some code and you will have to do a lot of tweaking via CSS to make it work smoothly.
