Hi there, the theme looks different in Safari - all of the home page widgets are taller than they appear in Chrome / Firefox, and additionally my CSS changes aren’t carrying over (in style.css) into Safari. Is this a known problem? I’ve tried using the child theme to edit CSS by the way, but it doesn’t work - I downloaded it from a forum question someone else asked.

Please test it on safari by clearing the browser cache.
Are you having the same issue on our below demo site on safari browser?
Also do not edit anything in the theme style.css file. If you make changes in the theme file then you have to make these changes again after theme updation as changes made in the theme files get lost on theme updation.
Instead you can use custom CSS code on your site by adding it in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.
Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Shapely Options -> Other
