Menu Item should not disappear when Browser width is small

First of all thanks a lot for the wonderful Shapely theme.

My problem at the moment ist that I do want to avoid that the menu items automatically disappear when the width of the browser window gets too small. How can I control that?

Every attempt with @media in CSS didnt work. Since it seems to be hardcoded somewhere and I can’t find it. Can someone help me?
