In the Jumbotron section of the customizer, there is no option to change the photo background. I do have “Front Page” selected as the static home page. The video showing how to change this image did not help as it looks like that was an older version of the theme. Please see attached screenshot.

In order to change the Jumbotron image you will have to go to Appearance > Customize > Front Page Sections > Jumbotron then scroll down until you see the backgrounds tab and simply add the background image there.
