Hi there
I am getting to grips with the built in portfolio element of Shapely.

  1. Image dimensions for multiple use with the portfolio/projects section
    I am having trouble making the various portfolio elements to look good. It looks like the portfolio element heavily uses the ‘featured image’ for the preview on the home page and for the hero image within a project. What is the best image dimensions to use? at the moment I have various size/aspect ratio images and the theme doesn’t do any auto resizing in this element to get layouts to look neat.

I’m wanting all uses to look uniform (e.g. same size for all elements of project preview on home page, same size for hero image on all project pages, same size for preview image on project types slug page etc. To neaten it all up. Given this is a responsive theme I don;t want to go old school and create all images in exactly the same dimensions presuming the CSS/JS will sort it automatically.

Hi,

  1. The home page image uses the images size set in Settings -> Media -> Medium size
  2. The single portfolio uses this image size, 1110*530

So you can add image according to that, add a best image you have, and WordPress will automatically crop that according to the size needed.

If you add featured image before this theme or change the Medium image size in Appearance -> Media, then use this plugin to regenerate all the image sizes: Force Regenerate Thumbnails – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org

Hi thanks

As you can see from the following pages images aren’t being resized and are looking a bit messy. What do I do ?

Sorry for a late response,

  1. For this image size: https://mka-architects.co.uk/wp/ you’re talking about the parallax images right? In that case, we don’t resize it. We put the image as it is. The image will take half the size of the row, and the remaining is for the right/left side text.

  2. Projects Archive | MKA Architects If you’re using Photon module in the Jetpack plugin means, try to disable it and see that fixes the issue. Sometimes Photon shrink images.
