Question about image sizes and sidebars

Hi colorlib! Thank you for this nice wp theme.

I’ve look around but I must missed it the info is somewhere in the theme.
First I want to ask if it’s possible to remove the sidebar from the blog and expand it to full-width?
Second, what is best size for the slides? I created two images with 1600x600px but a part of it was trimmed away.
