"Read more"-button disappears when using "more"-tag in posts

Hey guys,

first of all, thank you very much for these awesome themes you provide! <3

I’ve got a problem with my Shapely theme and I couldn’t find any solution on the web so far.

The thing is, when I don’t use the “more”-tag my blog page is just find. After the first 55 words the automatic excerpt of the posts ends and below there is the button saying “Read more”. All good in the hood! But as soon as I use the “more”-tag in a posts in order to make a custom excerpt with less than 55 words, the button won’t show anymore. Same with the custom excerpt field in post editor. When I write an excerpt on my own, no “Read more”-button on blog page for this specific post.

Is this supposed to be like that? I don’t think so tbh. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Tom

@dominikstoller: Didn’t you write something about content options?

Nobody heard of this problem before?

Hi @dexter4win,

Could you send us an example of posts so we could see how is behave? Make two or three of them and send us the link so we could see what is happening.

thanks,

Cristian

Hey Christian,

thanks a lot for your response!

That’s the project I was referring to: http://dummy.kulturbhf.de/.
I created 3 example as you can see on the front page.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks Christian, appreciate it!
Any news?

Hi @dexter4win,

I posted as a bug on github, I hope very soon we will have an answer. Until then, maybe you should use another tag in your post.

Thank you for understanding,

Cristian
