Remove Social Icon from Footer

I am sorry for asking a common question, but i tried to remove the social menu with this piece of code i found in the colorlib forum:

#footer.social-icons {
display: none;
}

Sadly it does not work and now i need your help.

Found out that you can uncheck the Box in Menu - Social Menu - uncheck “social Menu”.
