Several issues with Dazzling since update?

Hi,
It’s hard to say whether these issues all point towards the theme itself or something else, but they seem to have all occurred since the last update and perhaps you could shed some light on them:

  • sub menu items (second tier) in the main menu aren’t working, and instead the menu button seems to take the user to the homepage (with a # at the end?)
  • several plugins no longer work, including Optin Cat and Widget Options.
There simply seems to be something a little off with most things, as if there’s something wrong behind the scenes. Url is thriveprimal.com
    Thanks in advance,
    Will

Hello there,

I hope you are doing well today.

1 Were you able to check the links of the dropdown menu? Are the links for each item correct?
2 Are there any new updates for those plugins? Please go to Dashboard > Updates to install the plugin updates.

Best Regards,
Support

Hi,

Links in the dropdown (tier 2) work fine, but the primary button (tier 1) doesn’t retain the link for some reason. Have removed and then re-installed the tier 1 link but no change.

All Plugins are updated.

Thanks,
Will

Hey Will

Sorry for the delays, please check again your problems and get back to me with updated questions

Hi @Noda,

I’ve checked again and updated Dazzling to the latest version and still no change:

  • button in main menu still doesn’t work (just takes me to the home page plus #), no option for menu sub-items
  • certain plugins still don’t work.

All plugins are up to date. The header image/banner has also disappeared since updating the theme.

hi Willnic

I just checked and menu is working normally for me, can you tell me how to test your problem? i went ahead and checked several menu elements they perform usually, no lag no bug here
Which plugin? - we cant provide support for third plugins and in this case you have to contact plugin developers

It’s specifically the “Essential Oils” button on the menu that isn’t working, and nothing I do to it (including replacing all the elements) changes it.
Can you also advise how I can re-establish my header? It disappeared after I updated the theme today.
Thanks,
Will

hi Will

Ok, i think this is a caching plugin configuration conflict, please deactivate autoptimze and try again, you can reconfigure this plugin after we ensure this is plugin conflict

Thanks @Noda, I’ve deactivated Autoptimize and still no change in the header.

Hi there

thank you, ok, then please deactivate all third party plugins and try again your problem, most probably this I conflict with third-party plugins.
Once you deactivate all plugins please check your problem again, if the problem is gone then this means it was a plugin conflict. Now, start activating plugins one by one and same time repeat your problem until your problem appears again, now you know which plugin was in conflict Thanks!

Hi again,

Thanks for this. I’ve done as you advised and gone through deactivating all the plugins. Nothing seems to be affecting the header, so unfortunately it must be something else!

Hopefully we can find a solution.

Thanks,
Will

Hello there,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused here.

Please check your menu items in the drop down and ensure that they all have a link assigned to them including the parent.

Hi,

Turns out you were right - the Autoptimize plugin was indeed interfering with the dropdown menu. That seems to be working fine since I deactivated the plugin - not sure why it didn’t work the first time I tried.

Any idea how I can fix the header image, which disappeared upon updating Dazzling?

Thanks,
Will

Hi there,
Thanks for writing back.
In that case, could you kindly provide us with temporary admin access to your WordPress Dashboard so that we can have a closer look into this.

You may create a new administrator user within your WordPress Dashboard using your email address. You may then copy the login credentials to us in your reply.

I look forward to your reply.

I’ve created temporary admin access for 24 hours: http://www.thriveprimal.com/wp-admin/?wtlwp_token=65d341a2aeff40e73b416c277b33123a

Let me know if you have any issues.

Hi Will

Can you tell me where was the header image or how it was added?
please share a screenshot of the section where header image was added and then we can help you

`The header image was directly above the main menu. As you can see in the screenshot, the image is still assigned as a header image, however nothing has shown in that space above the menu since updating the theme.

Wilic, yes but we don’t have such option in the theme, it’s not available in our demo, no image is above the main menu…???
btw, your website cant breathe because of so many plugins, I have a hard time to investigate it, definitely you have to exclude some plugins

Agreed on the plugin front, I’ve been meaning to have a cleanout for a long time!

Yes, that’s the issue. Unfortunately I don’t have a screenshot of the page before the header disappeared, but essentially it was banner across the full width of the page. The issue is that the theme thinks the image has been added (via the Header Image section under customize) but then it doesn’t show. Would there be anything preventing the image from showing?

Hello there,

This could be happening because of some new code that was added or a third party plugin.
Please try disabling any third party plugins that were not bundled with the theme as one of them may be causing a conflict.
