In zip archive file there are two files. Shapely-demo and Shapely-widgets. Shapely-demo should be imported just like any other demo content via WordPress dashboard – Tools – Import.
Afterwards you should install plugin called “Widget Importer & Exporter”. You will find it by searching for new plugins in your WordPress dashboard. Using this plugin you will need to import Shapely-widgets file in similar fashion you did with demo content itself
The problem is that regular WordPress importer doesn’t support widgets and therefore you need to use two separate importers. I know that it sucks but next version of WordPress importer have promised to fix this. I really hope it will.
Here is a short video that shows how to use demo content files that you can download from above:
For more information you can also check theme documentation where we have outlined steps you should take to create a website that looks exactly like Shapely theme demo.
To help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/shapely/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.
In your new topic please tell us a bit more in detail how you are importing the demo content.
If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.
We would be more than happy to help you on your new thread.
Thank you for providing the wonderful shapely theme! I encountered a problem with the demo content and was hoping that maybe you could help me with that. (I am an absolute newbee when it comes to wordpress so it is PERFECTLY possible that I made a blatant mistake somewhere.)
I tried to follow the instructions as meticoulously as possible but when I import the xml file there’s no “all done” line in the end. That is the only difference I notice to the instruction video. Subsequently there is no content showing.
Maybe you have an idea what went wrong/ what I did wrong.
Thank you very much and sorry about any mistakes as English is not my native language.

@Lutece As said above to help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/shapely/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.
In your new topic could you please share us the screenshot of what you are getting when you try to import the content?
This can be due to “Maximum execution time exceeded” error on your site so try resolving it as described on the below pages.
when i saw the dokumentation i thougth „OH MY GOD“ is this a really really nice Thing. Demo Content to test all the Features and see a full Site with stuff to change without uploading stupid things to see a bit ot the funktions.
Now to my Problem.
Its the 5th Day i am trying to install the Demo Content and to Fix the (Failed to import Media)-Error.
I Googled four evenings how to fix the Problem. I tried different Import-Plugins. I tested different Wordpress Versions. But nothing worked well.
Here my Data of Usage:
Wordpress: 4.6.1 (English Version)
Wordpress Import Plugin: Manually downloaded from this Site and Installed
Debug: IMPORT_DEBUG is „true“
I also checked the Links from the Images i tried to import with the Error. And they exist. But i am not in the mood to download all the 500 pics manually.
Here is the Error Message i get:
Failed to import Media “canola2”: Remote server did not respond
Failed to import Media “dsc20050727_091048_222”: Remote server did not respond
Failed to import Media “dsc20050813_115856_52”: Remote server did not respond

@sterosize Didn’t you see my previous reply posted in this topic requesting to create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/shapely/ instead of replying on others thread?
you said: “The problem is that regular WordPress importer doesn’t support widgets and therefore you need to use two separate importers. I know that it sucks but next version of WordPress importer have promised to fix this. I really hope it will.”
Is there more information about that? Should we wait for this next version or are there other plugins which could do the job?
@yaleks89 As said previously many time to help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/shapely/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.
If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.
