Hi, when I activate the slider it makes it full width with a lot of whitespace on both side.

I want my site to look more like the example one on the theme page.
So I guess, how can I get it so the sidebar is level with the slider? And further, is there an easy way to resize the slider in general?

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
It seems from your shared screenshot that you have set the featured images of slider posts having height larger than width but for the rectangular slider it needs images having larger width than the height.
I visited your shared site to test it but found you are using another theme on it than Sparkling theme.
Please advise.
