I enabled the slider and it keeps saying: Slider is not properly configured on my site.

Hope you are having a good day and thank you for your question 
You will find the setting of the slider in appearance > customize and find slider setting here, you have to select post categories that will roll i the slider (posts must have featured image assigned)
