slider not showing on front page when page translated with WPML

For today’s little challenge…!

When I translated my front page with WMPL plugin, the slider on the front page disappeared, suggesting that the front page is no longer a front page.

Is there a workaround? Ideally I’d have the slider appearing on both the english page and the translated page, but would settle for a static image that spanned the page width and appeared under the primary navigation.

This problem is resolved:

To make the featured slider show on a WPML multilingual site make sure the Media translation plugin is installed and active. WPML > Media translation > Click the “start” button to duplicate media files which includes featured images. The slider then appears on the original front page and also the translated front page.
