As far as I can see, there’s no option to enter your social profiles any more in the latest version. There’s no place to enter them on the sidebar widget either. You can only change the title of the widget. So nothing shows when you use the widget in the sidebar apart from “Follow us”.
Am I just being completely stupid or has this been accidentally removed in the theme?

In the latest version of theme we have changed functionality of social links.
To create social icons follow the below steps :
Create a menu like any other menu in the admin area of your site under Appearance -> Menus .
Use the correct urls in the menu items, so for twitter it must be twitter.com for facebook it must be facebook.com. Otherwise URLs won’t get recognized and you will get squares without icons.
Set theme location for this menu as “Social Links”
