I utilize Yoast SEO and when I try to set the Schema to a different post type (Article, News Article etc.) it doesn’t work. No matter what I select it shows up as Web Page:

According to Yoast the theme may be overriding the selection process and always posting articles as WebPage.
Can you confirm if this is the case and if so how can we update Sparkling theme to not override our Schema selections.
