Sub Menu Item Not Appearing?

Hi,

I placed 3 pages under ‘Soups’ as shown in the print screen http://prntscr.com/aum5aw but why are they not showing up when I hover on the ‘Soups’? http://prntscr.com/aueqhz Did I do it wrongly?

Also, how do I make my default text black in color? It looks like gray currently.

Hi Yvonne,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

I placed 3 pages under ‘Soups’ as shown in the print screen http://prntscr.com/aum5aw but why are they not showing up when I hover on the ‘Soups’? http://prntscr.com/aueqhz Did I do it wrongly?

This theme is built on Bootstrap and by default it doesn’t support third level of menu structure and one submenu is max so to achieve this you have to develop custom code bu referring the solution posted in the following reply.

https://colorlibsupport.com/t/child-theme-menu-override-in-functions-php-adding-a-third-level-of-menu-depth/

Also, how do I make my default text black in color? It looks like gray currently.

You can try making it by setting the color in theme Typography option on the following path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Dazzling Options -> Typography

Hi Movin,

I went through the post. Does that solution for Sparkling theme work for Dazzling as well?

The steps are rather complicated. I’m afraid I’ll mess things up. Could you explain it in a simpler way?

Yvonne

You can try achieving this by using the attached custom child theme of Dazzling theme that contains some custom code.

How do I install the attached custom child theme?

You can install it the similar way which you follow to install normal WordPress theme as described on the below page.

http://freewptp.com/tutorials/why-and-how-to-create-and-use-wordpress-child-theme/

Help!!!

I just installed the child theme and everything on my sidebar is gone! How can I restore them and still keep the child theme?

And why is everything gone? Do I have to re-do the widget area now or can it be restored?

Please let me know soon. Thanks.

Also, with this new child theme that I installed, is it possible to include a banner on top of the page? I want the banner to appear below all the menu items. Please refer to example on attachment.

My website url: http://www.souperdiaries.com

Hi again Movin,

I managed to find my widget items. They were in the ‘Homepage Widget 1’ and I dragged them all up back to the sidebar.

The sub sub menu is now showing up. Thanks!!

So, the question now is only about the banner thing. Is it possible to insert a banner now under the menu items with this child theme?

Yvonne

How do I find the header.php file of my child theme to insert the banner code?

You will find it on your server in the WordPress install directory on the following path.

/wp-content/themes/child-theme/header.php

Hi Movin,

I noticed that I asked a similar question about banners a few months ago. So I will carry on this topic on that thread as I find it very messy to do it here.

I will mark this thread as resolved. Hope that’s ok with you.

Sure you can mark it as resolved and you are most welcome here
