I’ve got a request from my customer to add some tabs on his webpage which runs on an Illdy template.
He also uses WPBakery Visual Composer plugin, which offers to create the tabs easily.
But the tabs work well only in Edit mode. While the page is saved and then viewed, the behaviour is not correct at all. After clicking on any tab, the tab isn’t switched to the selected tab content and moreover, the page scrolls down below tab section. Also, direct link to given tab doesn’t work.
I’ve prepared two subdomains to test it:
WP 498
WPBakery Visual Composer version 5.0
and the tabs work well with any preinstalled template (twentyfifteen, twentysixteen, twentyseventeen)
An example of working tabs.
But right after installing and activating the
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
In relation to your query here, unfortunately there are no official compatibility tests of that plugin with the theme. However, could you perhaps try using the “old tabs” element instead and see if it works.
Hi… … Support
thank you very much for your reply, but, can you explain me please what do you mean by “old tabs” elements?
Is it some Visual COmposer old or obsolete feature, or is it something else?
I don’t understand.
Hi there,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
In this case, the “old tabs” element is within the deprecated elements on the elements list. You should find a “deprecated” elements tab from the tabs section while adding a new element to the page.
OK, I found those old tabs and tried.
They also work fine with the default theme (twentyseventeen).
With Illdy it’s a little bit better than with the new ones - it is possible to switch from one tab to another now, but still, the page scrolls down, which is not good at all.
“it is possible to switch from one tab to another now, but still, the page scrolls down, which is not good at all.” - Im so sorry to say but this is not possible there is no option for this and without custom coding this is not possible
Finally, a plugin which goes well with Illdy 2.1.1 I found is Tabby Responsive Tabs currently in Version: 1.2.3
It is quite lightweight, but anyone can code own CSS code or buy an add-on.
