I installed the plug-in color-lib-plugin69 and I can now click the top menu links from sub-menu pages on a desktop, but the mobile version is not working (the link colours are odd too, I don’t know how to remove the red hover background colour). I am a complete beginner at this, so please forgive if I am missing something very obvious.
The site is in development here: santamariahotel.cockaigne.org/wp/
I am not using a child theme right now, as I am still playing with it all. When I am happy that I know what I’m doing (ha ha) I shall start with a proper child-theme on the correct URL.
Apologies, I’m stuck now. The plug-in wp-responsive-menu is not compatible with my essential WPML plug-in (the site is in English and Spanish), and the plug-in responsive-menu, which looks great, needs a higher version of php than I currently have. If I upgrade the php version from 5.2 to 5.4, Wordpress doesn’t work at all and I get server error pages.
Is there another plug-in I can use, or a way of tweaking the template to get the top links to work in the mobile version? Sorry for this!
It’s all OK, panic over. There was something wrong with the php.ini file - my webhost sorted it out and now everything is working. I am now going to try and get it to work with both English and Spanish menus. Onwards and upwards!
Hi Movin, are you still monitoring this thread? I do hope so, if not I’ll start a new one.
I have now got Responsive Menu up and running and it’s working well, I think. However, there are two things I need your help with as they seem to be related to the template not the plug-in:
The hamburger in phone view obscures a bit of the logo. In your original Sparkling template, the hamburger expanded the top of the header (?navbar? header? I’m not sure what it’s called, the top of the page) so as not to cover the logo. Is there something I can put into the CSS for Responsive menu or for Sparkling that will restore this capability?
Is there a way to centre the menu in desktop view, rather than it aligning to the right? You gave an answer to this and other questions in another forum, but I cannot sort out which of the CSS applies to the alignment and which to the other things the guy wanted.
@marco56 To help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/sparkling/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.
If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.
We would be more than happy to help you on your new thread.
