Two Columns on homepage

Hi, im trying to create the homepage just like the demo.

But i’m having troubles on creating the two columns layout… all the posts appears just as text and not with the larger featured image…

i want the homepage posts looks like when you click on some categories like this: http://franrohr.com.br/category/looks/

im adding the site home to clarify

I see that you have already resolved this issue. Most likely you were using static image for front page and not regular blog posts and that caused the issue.
