I noticed that when an image is uploaded into the Media, it looses clarity from the original image that is being uploaded.
Is this standard with your Sparking theme?
Is the slider always going to magnify the blog image, or can you set slide to appear the same size as uploaded image?

No it is not occurring on my test site.
Could you please share me the screenshot of your media where the image looses clarity from the original image so that i can troubleshoot it?

No it should not but depends on what Image sizes you have set in your site Media Settings so please share me the screenshot of it and also share me your site URL.
Please try regenerating thumbnails on your site using the below plugin.
