Visual Composer Compatiblity with Shapely?

I installed Shapely theme + full demo content & widgets (and removed all other themes from WP) in the latest version of WP and purchased Visual Composer(VC) specifically to use VC to build a site.

When I go to ‘Edit Page With Visual Composer’ VC will not launch, gets stuck in perpetual loading mode (rolling load icon). There are no other page editing plugins activated. What’s happening? Is Shapely incompatible with VC? A developer I use looked at it and said yes. How can this be?

Please make sure to use latest version of Shapely theme by downloading it from the below page.

Also deactivate all other plugins except Visual Composer.
