Wrong WordPress featured image rendering for Sparkling theme (?)

Hi,

I’m using Sparkling on a client’s site and the images don’t display correctly. Can it be the theme’s fault or is it something else? Thanks!

Usually this is caused by a really slow server or internet connection. But if this is not the case please post your website URL and will do some testing to see what is going on.

It doesn’t work on OSX Safari/Chrome, Windows IE/Firefox, so I don’t think that the browser/connection is the problem. Also, it’s also wrong in the gallery too, not just the featured image.

Slow server was to blame but not to load your images now but once they were mowed to Photon (Jetpack CDN module that you use for image delivery).

Here is a summary from Photon limitations section:

If your server takes longer than 10 seconds to upload the image to Photon, the upload will time out and your image will appear to be broken. Try to upload a differently-named image with a smaller file size if this happens.

Try to resize your images before you upload theme to play it safe and to avoid problems like these in the future.

I’ve just finished the resizing of the images, now everything looks fine. So the smaller images solve the problem. Thanks for your help! :slight_smile:
