I am still unable to edit website appearance. When I load the customize page the page loads but the website does not appear, only a white screen. To make any changes I have had to disable all security on the website and put it in maintenance.
Hi there
Hope you are having a good day and thank you for your question
Please deactivate all third party plugins and try again your problem, most probably this I conflict with third-party plugins.
Once you deactivate all plugins please check your problem again, if the problem is gone then this means it was a plugin conflict. Now, start activating plugins one by one and same time repeat your problem until your problem appears again, now you know which plugin was in conflict
Thanks!

Good evening
You have a pending update for the theme if you have any changes in files save them and update the theme
Ok update complete, still not able to customize
Good morning
Get in touch with your hosting and let them know you have this problem when you open customizer:
Error parsing header X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block, 1; mode=block: expected semicolon at character position 13. The default protections will be applied.
then can check this in the developer tools, this feature is enabled from the server and they have to disable this
I contacted the host and they said I need the url that the customization is using to communicate with the page. Looks like the page is being blocked by the firewall
Good morning
“I need the url that the customization is using to communicate with the page” - not clearly understand this part,
Can you disable the firewall? just temporary for testing purposes
I don’t really want to disable the firewall if I don’t have to, don’t think that will help anything either. The hosting co. said I need to whitelist the url for the page that is communicating with the customization page to my website, assuming that is an Illdy theme url/address. They were not able to find or see the url on their side.
Thanks
I not saying to disable it permanently, just for testing temporary
I believe this is not proper configuration of the firewall, it should not trigger such problems
Ok when would you like to try this
Good morning
You don’t need me to check this, disable firewall and then check customizer
Can you not first give me the url for the page that is communicating between your theme and the customization page since that appears to be the problem, that the firewall is blocking it. It is also looking difficult to coordinate as to when to disable everything I would like to try this first.
Thanks
Also I have already tested the customization when I disabled the firewall and it worked, so therefore it looks like the firewall is blocking it so I need to give the page authorization to go past the firewall, and to do that I need the url for the page.
Good evening
“Can you not first give me the url for the page that is communicating between your theme and the customization page since that appears to be the problem” - From your WordPress dashboard, go to appearance > customize and copy url of the page
Good afternoon
So the hosting site whitelisted the theme directory and plugin directory and still I was not able to see anything on the customization page.
So I went back to the first step and deactivated all plugins and disabled the firewall and still was not able to see anything on the customization page, whereas before I was.
Can you take a look at this again and see if you can find where the error is.
